There are many benefits of meditation. These benefits includes bettering your relationships with your friends, family and spouse, to bettering your performance at your career. There are numerous reasons why meditation assists in these categories. The primary reason is that through meditation, you are taking control of how you think and allowing your body and mind to focus and relax. The riddding of stress often gives you the pellucidity of thought required to keep relationships stable, as well as keep your work from overwhelming you.

Many people get into meditation to reap the benefits of meditation on stress levels. Stress is moslty the number one cause of problems at home or at work. By lowering the levels of stress you feel, you are more capable of handling the problems that do arise. While meditation cannot prevent problems from happening, it can better prepare you to deal with them. As those who meditate tend to be better balanced and well rested,

A few other gains of meditation include the ability to better focus and think more clearly. The subject of meditation is studied fairly frequently, however the fact that meditating does so much to bolster the thought process is still a bit of mystery. There has been speculation that meditation helps you to excercise parts of the mind that are usually left lying in dormant. Through the continuous and greater use of your brain, you have better means to handle issues that may arise. As you are exercising your mind while meditating, your mnemonic powers also improves, which assist in the ability to focus.

One of the less often considered benefits of meditation is the fact of putting your body into a state of tranquility. This rest can serve as effectively as a short nap, and in many ways, more effectively. As you put your mind and body into a state of rest by acts of of meditation, you have all of the benefits of sleep without a real sleep. This stamps out the groggy sensation that many people experience when they are first waking up after sleep.

numerous people can reap the gains of meditation wherever they are. Meditation can be undertaken anywhere, you can sit still and snub whatever is around you. This makes private offices, and even the commute to work, ideal places to meditate, especially if you take public transit or another form of meditation where you are not the driver.

The ancient Chinese art of energy balancing, feng shui, has enticed the modern Western mind by its plethora of applications for life improvement. Even if it could seem basic, feng shui is pretty difficult to define as it involves intimate knowledge of the elements, the surroundings, the energetic structure of the body as well as of the principles governing the functions of the universe. “Feng” means “wind” and “shui” is “water” in Chinese; these two elements, gentle wind and clear water are symbols of fulfillment in terms of health, wealth and fortune. People speak of “good feng shui” and “bad feng shui” depending on the way the energies are respected and put to work for you.

The cornerstone for feng shui is the total understanding of nature and the taoist vision, both embracing the concept that everything is full of the life energy or light, called “chi” or “qui” (in Chinese) or “ki” (in Japanese). The basic concepts that could sway a feng shui analysis of a location, person or situation include the five elements and the yin and yang rule. Feng shui is created on the ancient symbols present in I Ching, the ancient Chinese oracle. These symbols are used in the octagonal grid, the Ba-Gua, that helps you understand or determine the various relations between the feng shui locations in the home or office and the various aspects of your life.

Feng shui is common to several different schools, and it involves several levels of learning and understanding, depending on the complexity of the information you have available to and actually get to internalize. The cures offered by feng shui for life improvement vary from the use of fountains, aquariums and crystals to the energy improvement by means of clocks, colors and mirrors. Light and colors make an important combination by the focus they can bring to a certain location. Most places characterized by “bad feng shui” suffer from lack of light and color.

The interaction of the foundational elements is another foundational aspect of feng shui; wood, fire, water, earth and metal can encourage productive or destructive circles depending on the preponderance they have in one’s zone of affect.

Each of the elements has a corresponding color; it is basic feng shui knowledge to know how to complement colors and balance an environment. The location of the elements in a area is not randomly done as it has to be determined by the octagonal grid, the Ba-Gua.
